The Ilija bird emerged in the famous New York Times. In the text dedicated to the phenomenon of the art dispenser, the author, otherwise known critic Ken Donson, has published the reproduction of Ilija's paintings of Birds and Two Butterflies, in 1967. For the term "outsider art" Johnson considers that term should disappear from use because a great artistic works good outsider arts are good for the same reason as a good artistic work is mainstream of art.
